Flight Cancellations
Need to cancel a flight? AirTktServices helps U.S. customers cancel airline tickets and submit refund requests over the phone. Our agents review your fare rules, explain the applicable airline cancellation penalty, and walk you through refund eligibility — if any — before any action is taken.
Important: Refund eligibility and the amount that can be refunded are determined by the operating airline's fare rules. Many discounted tickets are non-refundable or carry significant cancellation penalties. AirTktServices does not set these rules, but our agents will explain them clearly before you cancel.
24-Hour Cancellation Protection
Under U.S. Department of Transportation rules, consumers who book a flight that originates in or arrives in the United States on an airline that operates to/from the U.S. generally have the right to cancel a booking without penalty within 24 hours of the booking, provided the reservation was made at least 7 days before the flight's departure. Terms may vary by airline; our agents will confirm eligibility for your specific itinerary.
How the Cancellation Process Works
- Call our toll-free line and share your ticket number / airline record locator.
- The agent reviews your fare rules and explains cancellation penalties, if any.
- You authorize the cancellation.
- The cancellation is submitted to the airline, and any refundable amount is initiated back to the original payment method (timing varies by airline and card issuer).
- You receive an email confirmation of the cancellation.
Typical Refund Components
- Airline fare refund — subject to the cancellation penalty set by the airline
- Government taxes — often refundable even on non-refundable fares
- Airline ancillary services (baggage, seats) — refund depends on airline policy
- AirTktServices service fee — disclosed up front and subject to our Refund Policy
Processing Timeframes
Airline refunds are typically processed by the airline within 7–20 business days after cancellation, though timing can vary. Once the airline releases the refund, your card issuer or bank may take additional business days to post the amount. AirTktServices does not control this timing.
